Comprehensive Exams
If it’s a first visit or a routine check-up, a comprehensive exam helps ensure your teeth, gums, and bite are healthy. Dr. Satterlee carefully examines your mouth, making sure you feel comfortable from start to finish.

This is the time to ask any questions or discuss anything of concern regarding your oral health. If the dentist finds any problems, he’ll discuss the recommended next steps for treatment.

Comprehensive exams help detect oral problems early on so that it’s easier, faster, and less expensive to fix them.

Oral Hygiene
Even the best brushers and flossers have hard-to-reach places that need the help of professional oral hygiene cleanings. We recommend scheduling a professional dental cleaning every six months.

Two cleanings at the dentist per year, plus your commitment to maintaining great dental hygiene at home, help reduce the chances of developing gum disease and tooth decay.

In addition to offering oral hygiene cleanings, Dr. Satterlee and his team can recommend ways to improve your dental routine.

Periodontal Therapy
Gum disease, AKA periodontitis, is a serious infection of the gums that can lead to dental problems and health issues if left untreated. Periodontal therapy helps treat the problem by removing harmful bacteria beneath the gum line.

Some common signs of gum disease that shouldn’t be ignored include: red, swollen, bleeding, or receding gums, and loose teeth. Dr. Satterlee and his team create customized periodontal therapy treatments based on the stage of the disease.

Regular dental cleanings and exams help reduce the risk of developing gum disease, but your lifestyle and hygiene are also a big factor in your oral health.

Root Canals

If you have a painful tooth caused by a deeper cavity, then a root canal may save the tooth while eliminating the pain. Root canal therapy removes the infection and seals the tooth, so you can function normally.

While many people associate root canals with pain, the truth is that root canals help stop the pain. If untreated, an infected or broken tooth may worsen, causing terrible discomfort and leading to more complex issues.

Dr. Satterlee first explains the steps and reasons for the procedure so that you know exactly what to expect and fully understand the benefits.

Nightguards
Teeth grinding at night can lead to jaw pain, headaches, tiredness during the day, and tooth damage. Unfortunately, many people don’t even realize they grind their teeth at night.

We work closely with you to determine if you need a nightguard and create your comfortable mouthpiece. Custom nightguards protect your mouth during sleep so that you can stop teeth grinding and enjoy a good night’s rest.

The properly fitted nightguard creates a safe barrier between your teeth with a cushion to prevent teeth from grinding.

Dental Crowns
If your tooth is damaged due to tooth decay or injury, a dental crown helps restore the look and structure. A crown works like a tooth cap and can be attached to the prepped tooth or a dental implant if you’re missing a tooth.

Dr. Satterlee combines art with science to craft your natural-looking crown so that it matches your existing smile. After prepping the tooth and taking impressions, the crown is created in your perfect shape, size, and color.

From emergency tooth repairs to restorative treatments, dental crowns help make a mouth complete.

Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry helps make dental procedures more relaxing and comfortable. Some of the biggest benefits are the reduction in anxiety and pain relief for the patient, while allowing our dentist to perform the necessary procedures more quickly and efficiently.

Whether you’ve had a bad dental experience in the past, have fears that are holding you back from getting treatment, have a strong gag reflex, or have multiple procedures in one day, then sedation dentistry may be for you.

Sedation options to ensure a comfortable experience include: nitrous oxide (AKA laughing gas), oral conscious sedation (administered orally), and IV sedation (administered intravenously into the arm or hand). After an initial consultation, we’ll determine which sedation solution is best for you and your treatment, and will explain exactly what you can expect.

While it’s rare that a general dentist offers IV sedation, Dr. Satterlee is licensed in this type of sedation as an added benefit to his patients.
